To promote and foster the growth of Australian Rules Football, and the teams bearing the Southport Australian Football Club name,
by the operation of licensed club facilities in the most effective and efficient manner possible thereby providing memorable
experiences for its members.

To have Australian Rules Football, Southport Sharks Australian Rules Football Club and the Licensed Club Facility recognised
as pre-eminent in their respective fields of endeavour.

OBJECTIVES
AFL FOOTBALL
- Explore all opportunities for the location of an AFL licensed team on the Gold Coast.
- Maintain at all times an open, frank and cooperative relationship with the AFL Commission and its Management.
- Recognise the importance of Local, State and Federal Governments to the realisation of the vision of an AFL team on the Gold Coast and actively seek and nurture the support of each level of Government for that vision.
- Ensure that the Southport Australian Football Club is positioned and appropriately resourced to take advantage of any opportunities offered in relation to the location of an AFL licensed team on the Gold Coast.
AFLQ FOOTBALL
- Actively support the AFLQ in the administration of AFL football in Queensland.
- Recognise the importance of a strongly competitive AFLQ competition and actively support a continual strengthening of that competition within the resources reasonably available.
- Recognise the importance of retaining young Queensland produced players in the AFLQ competition, and where appropriate, providing resources and funds via the AFLQ Player Retention Scheme to achieve this outcome.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL
- Continually review the facilities available to and provided by the Club for junior football.
- Create both the perception and reality that the Club is a centre of excellence for junior football development, existing to develop young players capable of entering the AFL Draft.
LICENSED CLUB
- To secure the freehold title to the current club facility land.
- To be recognised as a valued Gold Coast corporate citizen.
- To be recognised as the most successfully run licensed club in Queensland.
- Ensure that the Licensed Club is operated at all times in accord with industry best-practice.
- Ensure that a robust communications protocol exists between the Club and its members.
GOVERNANCE
- Continually review the operation and conduct of business at Board level to ensure best possible outcomes.
- Rigorously ensure that the various activities of the Southport Australian Football Club are conducted in accord with legislative requirements.
- Recognise the importance of a robust communications protocol with Management and Staff.
- Continue to consider partnerships with appropriate organisations, agencies and entities as a means of realising Club objectives.
- Continually nurture corporate relationships to ensure that maximum mutual advantage is gained.
OTHER CLUB PROPERTY
- To utilise the Club’s freehold land at Coomera to its best relative advantage.
