Hall of Fame

The Southport Australian Rules Football Club has always had a tradition of awarding Honorary Life Membership to people who have given long and conspicuous service to the Club and so far 23 people have qualified for this.

In recent years, the Board of Directors introduced an award of Playing Life Membership, which had strict criteria, requiring 10 years of playing service and 150 senior games. So far 6 players have received this honour.

Despite this, the Board of Directors felt that there were many people who did not get recognised in either of these categories who had given outstanding service to the Club, particularly in the area of playing and coaching. Hence the concept of the Hall of Fame.

There were no strict criteria for the Hall of Fame, but at this stage it has been limited to playing and coaching performances or a combination of both.

The following were the initial inductees of the Hall of Fame announced on June 23, 2000.
